Deep Analysis
The Cremation of Sam McGee by Robert L. Service
I think that the reason that this poem became so popular is that when it was writen, the north amarican dream was to strike it rich by mining for gold in the yukon. This poem can decribe the what it's like in the yukon during the gold rush like nothing else in existance. I chose this poem because my parents read it to many times when I was around the age of 6 and I've always remembered it.
Sevice use examples of personification:
The Northern Lights have
seen queer sights,
But the queerest they ever did see
Was that night on the marge of Lake Lebarge
I cremated Sam McGee.
He Also used rhym in the poem, in fact the intire poem is rhyming
Rhyming words are color coded
The Northern Lights have seen queer sights,
But the queerest they ever did see
Was that night on the marge of Lake Lebarge
I cremated Sam McGee.
